The Cartel Strikes Back Outline
This is a copy of the outline from The Cartel Strikes Back. If you have read the book, you will notice changes from the outline. I do not consider the outline cast in cement, rather it is written in the sand at low tide.
After I've completed the outline, I make another copy and give it the name of the book. I then start writing above the first line in the outline. As I complete scenes, I delete them from the outline. In this way, I can always see what I'm supposed to be writing about and what scene it leads into.
Often times, as the story progresses, it brings up questions that need to be researched. As a result of these, the outline may need to be changed. I make the changes in the first draft of the manuscript and don't go back and update the outline.
