A beast lays waiting in our neighbor to the south.

Ted Higuera, now managing his father’s Mexican Restaurant in East Los Angeles, is reunited with his best friend, Chris Hardwick, when old nemesis reemerges from their past.

Ted’s little brother disappears in Juarez, the drug capital of the world, and Ted and Chris are dragged into the middle of the war between rival cartels vying for control of this important portal to the US drug market. They must confront the corruption of Mexico’s law enforcement and find new allies in a hostile environment.

Beautiful PI, Catrina Flaherty, Ted’s former boss, and her partner Jonathon Jefferson, travel to Mexico on the trail of Seattle’s drug kingpin.

The situation escalates when Ted and Catrina discover that their fates are intertwined.

Can they survive the drug war, return the drug kingpin to the US to face charges and rescue Ted’s little brother?

Throw in a magical Jaguar and an Aztec god and you have a rollicking adventure tale.

Five-Star Review

Another hit in the Ted and Chris Series

Gabriel Rodriguez on March 14, 2015

Pendelton Wallace hit another home run with The Mexican Connection. The gripping story of Mexico's Narco War invading Ted and Chris's life enables the reader to get a look at the brutal environment that many in Mexico suffer. Though the troubles in Juarez have calmed, what the book reveals can erupt at any time. The book even changed my vacation plans in that I am now going to spend a couple days in Cholula, Mexico.
I recommend this Novel to anyone who wants to learn about the troubles in the border area and loves action novels.

Ted Higuera is a series that I thoroughly enjoy reading. In series books you begin to identify with the character. This book was fast moving in pace, however, since I have visited different parts of Mexico on a regular basis, the reader must keep in mind that all of Mexico is not related to the incidents in this book. The Mexican people in general are happy, joyous, and celebratory. They love their families.

Ted Higuera #3
Martin on May 10, 2015

This is my third book in the series, and I am awaiting #4 later this year. The two main characters are hard working friends who always seem to find themselves solving problems. Now love interests are added for both Ted and Chris. The panther was an unexpected character in this book, but a good one. Please keep the series going.

What a great series!

I'm waiting for more! I find the characters so real and wish that they lived on the East Coast so I could meet them. The plots are good, the situations are well thought out, I like the intricate weaving of persons and places. Well done excitement!
