It's over. I have a new bionic knee.
It's been a long, hard struggle. I went in for surgery on November 28th. I've been pretty much bed-ridden since then. The day before yesterday, I got up to make coffee.
I got the coffee going and puttered around in the kitchen for about forty-five minutes before I realized I wasn't using my cane.
It's a miracle. I could walk. I had my first physical therapy appointment and they were very impressed with my progress. On my first visit, I was already at or above the measurements they need to release a patient.
But it comes at a price. I've been in terrible pain since the surgery. The stingy doctors never give me enough pain medication to relieve me. I take the pills, then suffer for the next few hours as the pain goes from fire-engine red to warning light yellow.
It goes without saying, that I haven't been able to work for the last six weeks. Today is my first attempt at sitting at my desk and producing any writing. Already my leg is beginning to throb.
I will get back to work on the Cyberwarfare novel soon. I plan to start on page one and do my edits and incorporate the ideas I've gotten from my writers group to get myself back up to speed on the story before I start writing new content. Be patient with me, I'll get the book published in the next couple of months. I'm really having fun with this book. I think it will be worth the wait.
I hope you all had a good holiday season and best wishes for the new year.
