Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, a handsome young prince lived in a bustling city on the shore of a great ocean. Our prince decided to build a long ship to take him on adventures throughout the great ocean.
One day, he met a beautiful, young maiden who was under the curse of an evil wizard. The wizard cast a spell on her that required her to live with two giant beasts.
Our hero lived in fear of such beasts, but the maiden had her own magic. Soon she cast a spell upon the prince and they were completing his long ship and sailing off for warm tropical waters with her two beasts where they lived happily ever after.
But the wizard’s spell was evil. He had no intention of allowing the maiden to live happily ever after. The maiden had to have the beasts to sustain her, yet her beasts aged rapidly. The first one died in a kingdom called San Francisco.
They sailed on, eventually stopping in a small sea-side village called La Paz. The natives in La Paz were awed by the size and beauty of her remaining beast. Everywhere she and the beast went, they treated her like royalty.
While they were in La Paz, the prince aged rapidly, as a result of the wizard’s spell. His knees became weak and they had to sail back to a kingdom called San Diego to find a healer that could help his knees.
The wizard looked in his crystal globe, rubbed his hands together and gloated. This was perfect. He cast another evil spell and the beast named Odin aged rapidly. The sorcerer’s spell drained the life from him.
The wizard rejoiced. The most dastardly part of his curse, was that the maiden could not live without the giant beasts. They were part of her soul, and without them, her soul began to wither.
The years passed slowly and the beautiful maiden shrank into herself. While the prince lived the life he had always dreamed of, his love grew quiet and bitter.
What was wrong? Had the wizard’s evil spell caused this?
The only way to fight the wizard’s spell was to embrace it. Although the prince dreaded having a fearful beast on board, the only solution for the problem was to find another mystical creature for the maiden.
But the wizard’s magic was strong. The maiden searched the land with her magical power that she called the Internet and found the perfect beast to join her.
The prince knew that she must have the beast to recover her youth and strength, so he took her to a far distant land to find the creature. They took it home to the long ship and started a new life.
The wizard struck. He placed a curse on the beast causing it to try to destroy other, smaller members of its kind. The maiden was crushed. She asked the prince to return the beast to its far away homeland.
Fate intervened. A kindly witch named Natasha, queen of the Great Dane Rescue Coven, sent an encoded message to the maiden. There was another giant beast that could break the spell. The maiden ran immediately to the far north land called Los Angeles and found the new beast.
The beautiful creature named Riley had white fur covered with black spots. She was kindly and gentle, even though a giant among her kind. Her posture was straight and she was a magnificent example of her tribe.
But the wizard wasn’t willing to give up easily. He attacked the beasts with his horrible spells. He caused another beast to break down a wall and impregnate her. The pregnancy went bad and the witch took her to a shaman to remove the doomed puppies. The wizard was infuriated, so he cast a spell to put an evil growth on her neck. Natasha again took her to the shaman. The growth was removed, but the stitches went bad. The poor creature, Riley, had to go back to the shaman.
The maiden wasn’t dismayed. She knew the power of love. She took Riley back to the long ship and nurse her back to hearth.
The wizard looked in his crystal ball and cursed. His plan was foiled. The maiden had found a new soul mate and he could do nothing more to curtail her happiness.
And, once again, they all lived happily ever after.
Except for the evil wizard.
